Reunidos en la ciudad de Atibaia, São Paulo, Brasil, durante el 5º Festival Atibaia Internacional do Audiovisual, del 12 al 16 de enero de 2010, representantes de organizaciones, asociaciones y organizaciones culturales de Argentina, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Brasil, Colombia, Ecuador, España, Italia, México, Portugal, Uruguay y Venezuela, han promovido el 1er Encuentro Internacional de los Derechos del Público, cuyas conclusiones se expresan en esta carta:
